The mission of the graduate program in the Physics Department at Kyung Hee University is to pursue the discovery of genuinely new phenomena in nature. The faculty members and graduate students are actively engaged in research in the field of fundamental aspects of physics ranging from theoretical particle physics to advanced applied physics topics such as experimental and theoretical semiconductor physics. The Department is also equipped with a huge cluster of computers for research in complex systems. Also notable are the collaborative research programs with the neighboring institutions, namely Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Korea Institute of Advanced Studies (KIAS). The students are also provided with the opportunity to visit and study at the Ecole Polytechnique, which is one of the most renowned universities, in France. More specifically, we aim to train students to be active researchers and global leaders in the following fields after graduation: research and development of semiconductor devices, information display, digital communication, space science, medical instruments, theoretical particle physics, and condensed matter physics.
